What To Do When You Crave Comfort Food

What do I generally crave when it has been raining for four days, a miserable cold rain that lets you know winter is coming?  I crave comfort food.  The weather had precipitated some depressed moods, a few tears over other parts of life and general angst.  Luckily we had chicken legs, potatoes and onions slow-cooking in the crockpot, a kabocha squash melting into goodness in the oven, and we convinced ourselves that a massaged kale salad for greenery was expected.  It hit the spot, perfectly.

Dessert was oatmeal cookies, whipped up with some apple chunks and a little piece of Taza semi-sweet chocolate on top.

The food was a success, even if the mood was not.  But, today, it is sunny.  Things are looking a little better.  Tomorrow is distribution, the day after, cider pressing, and Sunday is a farm tour!  Lots to look forward to!
